Another mixed bag this month starting off with a reggae remix of the Fugee’s Fu-Gee-La followed by Ranking Joe. G-Corp’s Murder keeps the dub vibe going into 7Samurai’s Feel the Same. Ballistic Brother’s Provesy Reveal is nice and dubby house. DJ Cam takes it down a few notches to give a nice little come down with Meera. Jazzanova(Much love to Jazzanova), I can’t see enough good things about this group of powerhouses. Jon Kennedy sample some Willy Wonka in his Nerve Centre. Cut Chemist drops in the first song of our Portuguese double shot. Ohmega Watts rounds out our double shot with his track Adaptacao featuring Tita Lima. Cut Chemist channels his inner Thievery Corp/Avalanches for his second track of the podcast, Metrorail thru Space. Skalpel’s Breakin remix by Dr Rubberfunk cools it down for the Wu’s Masta Killa tellin everyone that he is the Brooklyn Kin

Austin City Limits was worth it

Posted in Music, Social Situations on September 19, 2007 by Kim

ACL was worth the money. The bands where awesome. It was hot but Barton Springs was there to cool us off. The entire event was very well organized. You never waited longer than 1 minute for a beer and 2 minutes for food. The porta potties where clean and there was always hand sanitizer every where. The amount of people amazed me… People where so tame and happy which to me could have never have been accomplished in Houston. Props to Austin, the people, and the bands for making this event ROCK beyond belief.

Out of the concert these where the shows that I loved:

  1. Queens of the Stone Age – Amazing energy and rock
  2. LCD Soundsystem – I found a new love
  3. Bjork – first song was like OMG then boring
  4. Stephen Marley – loved every bit of it
  5. Arctic Monkeys – super chill and awesome
  6. Common – wish it was more old skool
  7. Joss Stone – perfect sounds and vocals… so sweet to my ears
  8. Regina Spektor – Her sweetness made me shed a tear. Love her!
  9. Spoon - missed this one :(
  10. Muse - freaking cool tunes here… amazing preformance

If you love music and you can forget the heat, then I highly recommend Austin City Limits to anyone.

Apple Ipod ShuffleI washed my boyfriends (Josh) ipod shuffle. Not only did I wash it, but I completely dried it. Guess what… IT STILL WORKS like a charm! Apple is awesome not only for it’s cool product design but the now the durability. His shuffle is proof of that.
